Tony Hawk Downtown Rooftop Gaps Locations And Completion Guide

Navigating the urban landscape of the Downtown stage in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater requires precision, high speed, and a firm grasp of aerial maneuvers. Among the various park goals featured in this level, completing the rooftop gaps stands out as one of the most technical challenges for players. Understanding the exact locations and required jumps will make clearing this objective much smoother.
Accessing the Rooftops and Reaching the First Jump
Before attempting any of the aerial gaps, players must reach the elevated roofs of the Downtown level. You can gain access by taking the metal ramp or truck walkway into the building corridor and grinding through the glass to reach the upper level. Once on the first roof near the greenhouse structure, position your skater to face the opposite building with yellow windows.
To complete the first gap, launch off the short ramp near the greenhouse to break through the window across the gap. Building up enough speed or using a Boneless move right at the lip of the ramp ensures you clear the distance safely. Landing inside the room successfully triggers the first step of the park goal.
Clearing the Gap Between Rooftops
After finishing the initial jump, return to the first rooftop to prepare for the leap across to the adjacent building. Head toward the quarter pipe area where a ramp marked with a yellow arrow points toward the second roof. This gap requires substantial airtime, so maintaining a full Special meter is highly beneficial.
Skate at high speed toward the arrow ramp and execute a well-timed trick to glide over the open space. Landing on the second roof clears the Roof 2 Roof gap and puts you in position for the final challenge. Players can also collect the level's Secret Tape during this flight path if timed correctly.
Executing the Tricky Roof to Rail Death Grind
The final rooftop challenge is widely considered the most difficult jump in the entire Downtown objective. Located on the second roof, this jump requires launching off a large ramp toward the plaza below. Unlike standard jumps, you must land directly in a grind on the long rail leading toward the fountain.
Hitting the pavement instead of the rail will cause the attempt to fail, forcing you to climb back up to the roof. Using a Boneless at the edge helps align your skater properly with the rail. Maintaining balance along the rail until you reach the bottom will officially check off the final gap requirement.
Tips for Mastering Downtown Gaps Efficiently
Consistency on the rooftops depends heavily on momentum and stat management. Reallocating stat points into Airtime and Hangtime prior to starting your run gives your skater higher jump arcs. Additionally, grinding surrounding rails to fill your Special meter before hitting key ramps provides a necessary speed boost.
If you struggle with overshooting the final rail, adjusting your speed or jumping slightly earlier off the ramp can improve landing accuracy. Practicing the trajectory of each gap individually reduces frustration during full career mode runs. With careful timing and proper setup, conquering all three rooftop gaps becomes a rewarding achievement.
